RESIDCO Annual Aviation Traffic Index: % Change Since 1990
The RESIDCO Global Aviation Annual Traffic Index provides a visual representation of the percent change in volume of Annual Global Aviation Traffic since the base year of 1990.   “Annual Global Aviation Traffic” is a sum of Passenger Revenue Ton Miles and Freight Revenue Ton Miles from over 280 US-based and non-US-based carriers.  

Revenue Ton Miles = (Tons of Cargo Mass) x (Number of Miles Traveled)

One Passenger = 200 lbs (average of body weight plus carry-on luggage)

Freight Traffic includes postal as well as passenger cargo.
